A Grand Junction woman was apprehended by authorities in Guthrie County Wednesday night following a chase by vehicle and on foot.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, just after 10 p.m. a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevrolet Silverado near Highway 141 and Justice Road in Bayard. During the traffic stop the truck sped away from the deputy southbound on Justice Road at speeds of up to 100-miles-per-hour. The truck turned west onto 130th Street and the deputy attempted a Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) maneuver on the pickup without success.

The truck continued westbound on 130th Street until it turned north onto Hickory Avenue. The vehicle was driving at speeds greater than 80-miles-per-hour until it failed to negotiate the intersection at Highway 141 and wrecked in a field north of the highway. The driver, 40-year-old Kylene Suzanne Rabourne, fled on foot before the deputy arrived at the crash scene. A K9 search was conducted of the area with several law enforcement agencies for about two hours before Rabourne was located and transported by Panora Emergency Medical Services to the Guthrie County Hospital for medical treatment. Rabourne was later booked into the Guthrie County Jail on nine traffic violations and criminal charges of interference with official acts, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft of a motor vehicle, and carrying weapons.

A pellet gun and an approximate nine inch knife was found in the stolen truck. Rabourne also has outstanding arrest warrants from Greene and Webster counties. Rabourne faces a felony forgery charge and a misdemeanor identity theft charge in Greene County for an unrelated incident. Bayard EMS, Iowa State Patrol, Panora and Coon Rapids Police departments, and the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
