A Jamaica man was injured and cited following a single vehicle wreck Wednesday afternoon in Greene County.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s office, at 4:37pm the Sheriff’s office and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash at the T-intersection of Quest Avenue and 305th Street. Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio that 81-year-old Larry Richards was traveling on Quest Avenue and wanted to turn east onto 305th Street. He failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the T-intersection where he slid his 2015 Chevrolet Malibu into the ditch.

Williams says Richards suffered minor injuries and was taken to Dallas County Hospital by Greene County EMS for treatment. Richards was wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident. The Malibu was a total loss. Richards was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
