Adel Library Bringing Back “Tales to Tails” in January

The Adel Public Library is continuing their popular “Tales to Tails” program in January, and local grade schoolers are invited to read to a dog.

The library partners with the Animal Rescue League’s Therapets program to bring in a therapy dog so that children can practice their oral reading skills. The program will be held on Saturday, January 5th, and it’s open to kids in 1st through 5th grade. Participants can sign up at the library’s front desk for a 15-minute time slot to read to the dog. Space is limited, but there is no cost to participate. The library and ARL are both excited about “Tales to Tails,” as it helps train the therapy dog, while helping the children gain confidence in their reading proficiency.
