Three Greene County Middle School students were recently recognized for their patriotic essays.
The American Legion Post #11 handed out certificates to the top three finishers in the 5th Grade Flag Essay Contest. The students submitted essays on the topic “What the Flag Means to Me.” Addison Gannon won first place and earned $30, Trysten Naylor was second and received $20, and Callie Martin earned third place and received $10. Gannon’s essay will advance onto the district competition.
