Time is running out for people interested in taking part in some upcoming winter sports leagues through the Perry Parks and Recreation Department.
The first is the Men’s 5-on-5 Basketball League, which is open to those aged 18 and older who are already out of high school. Games will be played at 8 p.m. in the McCreary Community Building on Wednesdays starting January 9th. The season will be a round-robin format, with a double-elimination playoff to decide the winner. The deadline to sign up is Friday, January 4th by 8 p.m., and the cost per team is $110.
Also starting in January is the Parks and Rec Youth Indoor Soccer League for boys and girls between age 5-10. There are three age divisions, with U6, U8, and U10, and the games will be played Thursdays starting on January 24th at 6 p.m. in the McCreary Center. Cost to participate is $35 per player, and the fee includes a team t-shirt. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, January 2nd by 5 p.m., and participants will be contacted by their coaches about practice time. Players will need to bring their own shin guards. Additionally, Perry Parks and Rec is still looking for coaches, and anyone interested has until January 2nd to let them know.
