Greene County Supervisors Meet for Final Time in 2018

The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

The Board approved a contract to hire Lacy Brubaker as the transitional administrator for Emergency Medical Services, effective immediately, on an interim basis for six-months. The Board also approved hiring Michael Bierl as part time County Veteran Services Director. Additionally, the Board approved a resolution to continue using the master matrix from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources through January 31, 2020, appropriating the final 15-percent of the funds towards the county budget for the current fiscal year, the weed commissioner’s report, an agreement with Access Systems for copy systems for $196 and an agreement with Farm and Home Publishers for $690 for wall maps.

The Board approved a loan agreement to borrow in principal the amount of $175,000 with the E-911 Board for upgrades to radio and computer software equipment at the law enforcement center to coincide with the statewide interoperable communication system network.

During open forum, County Attorney-Elect Thomas Laehn told the Board the courthouse security committee recommended scheduling two trainings for courthouse employees for Stop the Bleed and Active Shooter. The Board agreed to allow the trainings to take place. Also during open forum, County Real Estate and Tax Coordinator Pam Olerich shared the 2018 land valuations. She said overall, the land valuations for the county had increased.
